Electronic Virtual Assistant anyone?

EMAX is a new service that reads email messages to users over the phone. You can respond by voice, which is recorded and sent as a digital sound file. It's available for 19.95/month and comes with a 30 day free trial. Click above or call 1 877 447-3382 to subscribe if this sounds like assistive technology that you could use.

Hat tip to Talking Book Topics

Another great resource for this is a site called jott.com, kind of works the opposite of the previous tool. You call in and speak your message, it then translates your words into text and sends the recipient you name an email. So if you have problems typing or can't get to your computer, but need to be in touch, just pick up the phone!
Also, I want to mention another resource for people who need or want to work from home. A lady I know needs to stay home with her disabled son, so she got work as a Virtual Assistant! She works on her computer doing office tasks and such around the time she spends with her son, and makes some really good money! This is NOT a work from home scam. There is a site being launched called VirtualOutsourcing.org that explains all about it, and it is totally free on a volunteer basis. Check it out!
