Blindsighted tactile sidewalks in Toronto

Huzzah, first province in Canada finally has a disability act!

The yellow inset for the blind is standard in all of Japan, in all subway and train stations as well as all major sidewalks. The difference is quite remarkable as you can see with Toronto that the rubber has merely been added atop the sidewalk. This makes it much more challenging for wheelchairs, while the yellow paths, chirp light crossings created and repaved in Japan, Germany and other integrated disability countries are good for both the sight impaired as well as wheelchair users (or at least not an obstruction or caster flip point).

Elizabeth,
I know what you mean - have run into this type of issue around here where an access 'solution' for one disability creates an access issue for another.

Thanks for your comment :)
