A NY Times piece entitled On a Ring and a Prayer offers a tongue in cheek look at how a menu of phone options on a spiritual crisis hotline might, er, get rid of a few problems.

*snicker* and the funniest part to me is that my husband works for a company that does IVRs (Integrated Voice Response), the systems that are supposed to recognize what you're saying.

People ask him what he does and he tries to explain. The next response is almost always "Oh I hate those things!"

oh no LOL! Well I suppose they do have an important place, but I must admit I enjoy figuring out how to get PAST them and to a human being....
