I've been saying it for years: moving around on wheels is much more efficient than walking.
A Chicago cop on a Segway chased down a suspect and caught him yesterday (click on link above for full story). The police officer was in the area and on his Segway, which has a top speed of 12.5 mph, easily caught up with the guy.
One of the reasons he could make such a lightning like response is that his mobility device a la Segway was right beneath him. Imagine what a whole force of police on wheels could do - it boggles the mind.
Let's up those wheelchair speeds, shall we? And remember, as this video shows, some people will need more training on wheels than others...

I'm all for allowing wheelchairs to be uprated to, say, 20 miles per hour :-)
