German university test examiners humiliate student with disability

Examination overseers at a university in Germany told a student with a disability and bladder dysfunction that he could not leave the room to relieve himself or he would be failed. The student had to urinate in a bottle due to the fact that all of the overseers refused to accompany him to the restroom.

Just today, I was reminiscing about my testing vs. restroom experience... I showed up for the GRE's only to discover that the elevator was turned off "for security reasons." Which meant there was no available accessible restroom in that building -- I had to go about a block to get to the nearest building open on Saturday that had a wheelchair stall! Being a woman with no leg bag, a bottle was NOT an option... instead I had to wait for a section that I could finish early, and then was escorted by a proctor, who fortunately did not feel obligated to follow me into the stall.

Maybe the instructor should use a bottle at his next faculty meeting. Just to get a bit of empathy.

I think that's an excellent suggestion - and THEN he should have to take a high pressure test of his skills to see if he can keep his job!
