the accessible Bible
This Sunday, our pastor reminded all of us how important it is to read the Bible and pray. Seems pretty obvious , doesn't it? He asked whether folks had a copy of a Bible set up in their home for easy access. (Of course if you do and it's dusty, that's not the right idea!)
I read the Bible online because of my disability. I've added a link (click above) to a great website called Bible Gateway where you can read different versions of the Bible (it's free). THere are also Bible reading plans there if you prefer a more structured approach.
I decided to share this information because I was wondering if there are others who might prefer to read the Bible online or, who due to disability, travel obligations or other factors, don't always have a Bible with them.
If you own a Palm device, laptop or handheld computer, you can also download the Bible. Many of these files are available free. Audible.com also sells an audio version of the Bible which you can play on an Ipod or other mp3 player. I've also posted a link to a free podcast with a daily Bible reading if you scroll down about a week or so in my posts.
No matter what format you use, bottom line is that making time to read the Bible and pray every day is a spiritual practice that centers us, enriches our Faith and guides us toward the service work we need to do for others.

Thank you. I can no longer read my Bible due to bad arthritis in my hands. This is a wonderful find.
