A beautiful Irish hymn

Be thou my vision. O Lord of my heart - I used to play this on guitar. Found this arrangement and thought I'd share it.

Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art.
Thou my best thought, by day or by night,ItalicWaking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.
...
Be Thou my battle-shield, sword for my fight,
Be Thou my dignity, Thou my delight.
Thou my soul's shelter, Thou my high tower.
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man's empty praise,
Thou mine inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

Lovely. I know this with different words and it has always been a favorite!

Ruth: have you heard of Ginny Owens? She's a recording artist for Michael W. Smith's Rocketown Records, and "Be Thou My Vision" was the opening track of her debut album "Without Condition". Oh and by the way, she's blind!

Edward- No, I haven't. Will definitely have to check her out, thanks!

Terri- there were a lot of different arrangements of this song on YouTube. I had a good time listening to a number of them...
