I'd rather be on the sidewalk

Common sidewalk issues for wheelchair users force some into the street, as seen in this video

Great video!! I more often see wheelchair users in the street than on the sidewalk because often there is no sidewalk or it's buckled, blocked, or in such disrepair. Even one obstacle in a block, such as someone leaving tree limbs or a bicycle on there, forces someone to use the street for that block. And on busy streets, it's so dangerous.

It is a good video. Frida, I tell you I keep my will updated these days. There's no way to stay on the sidewalk even when it's dangerous to go in the street because of the obstacles. People park with their car sticking out onto the sidewalk, there are a lot of bushes that don't get cut back and sidewalks that are blocked by objects. I wind up going down and up driveways simply so I can run errands and get from Point A to B. Which means I'm in the street, but I'd rather be on the sidewalk too...

It's too bad that more communities don't take this situation seriously and get safety conscious, not just for wheelchair users but carriages and bicyclists.

...I can watch any YouTube video except for this one it seems, it stops at 2 seconds every time even though it's fully buffered. Darnit.

CG -sorry about the glitch. One thing that might work is to double click the video and it takes you over to the YouTube site to view it there. I've run into that depending on the browser, the video, etc...
