Really cool story. I love the details like the bright colors for wheelchairs and ramps.

Makes me realize, too, how often kids stories that intend to be "multicultural" (which somehow includes disabilities)include a child in a wheelchair or whatever, mostly as a side character, but never build the story around his/her life.

I'm glad you liked it! Part of why I wrote this was because I went looking for stories about kids with disabilities for my nephew and others and, although there are some good ones, we could use more! While I'm on the subject, I did read a book recently entitled Tangerine, which is about a visually impaired middle schooler (male) and he is the central character. And Steve over at the Planet of the Blind posted about a children's book the other day too. Always looking....
