Book review by Meredith Gould

Mitch Finley, It's Not the Same Without You: Coming Home to the Catholic Church. (Doubleday, 2003).

Excellent book about understanding why so many Catholics have been alienated from the Church, reasons for possibly returning, and the Church’s obligations to alienated Catholics. The chapter "Discovering That the Church Changed While You're Away" is an excellent reality check. "Letting Go of Anger, Bitterness, and Disappointment" is a great chapter about reconciliation which, the last time I checked, is one of the seven sacraments.

Meredith Gould writes articles for various publications and is the author of numerous books including “The Catholic Home: Celebrations and Traditions for Holidays, Feast Days and Every Day.” and "Come to the Table: A Catholic Passover Seder for Holy Week".
