Blind high schooler says "I'm not blind, I just can't see"

CBS news had a feature on a blind high school student who sees with sound, using the same technique that dolphins and bats use to reflect sound off of objects so he can tell where they are located. I found a post on a blog about him.

Ben discovered this technique after being taunted by a fifth grader who ran off. Ben used clicking sounds to follow him and stand up for himself. With his technique, Ben rollerskates, tosses pillows at others playfully and navigates around without a cane. He notes that this is better since a cane could be taken away by someone , leaving him unable to navigate. He recently swam with dolphins and the posting has a link to a video of that experience.
